JAKPRINTS MOVING INTO FORMER EASTLAKE WALMART

Jakprints has found a new home in Eastlake.

The Cleveland business, an independent printing company that was founded in 1999, is moving into the former Walmart site at 34440 Vine St., which has sat empty for over five years.

Eastlake Mayor Dennis Morley said the city started working over a year ago to get Jakprints into that location.

The initial meeting between the mayor and the company was initiated by the Lake County Ohio Port and Economic Development Authority and Lake County Commissioner Jerry Cirino.

“Obviously, there have been a lot of bumps in the road between the old owners of The Vineyards (New York-based Brixmor), who had to agree to things along with Walmart,” Morley said. “And we have been working through it for the last year and they finally came to an agreement on the building.”

The mayor also noted that Jakprints, which is anticipating moving into the new location in October, will bring about 300 jobs and a $14 million payroll to the city.
