COUNCIL AS A WHOLE COMMITTEE MEETING

MINUTES

TUESDAY

JANUARY 9, 2018

7:00 P.M.

Mr. Meyers opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m.

ATTENDEES

Members of Council in attendance were Mr. Kasunick, Mr. Spotton, Mr. Hoefle, Mr. Evers, Mr. Overstreet, Mr. Zuren and Council President Mr. Meyers. Also attending was Council Clerk Mrs. Simons.

Those attending from the Administration were Mayor Morley, Fire Chief Whittington, CBO Menn, City Engineer Gwydir and Law Director Klammer.  Police Chief Reik, Service Director Rubertino and Finance Director Schindel were absent and excused.

Mr. Meyers: If there is anyone privately recording this meeting as courtesy to the public will you please identify yourself so that the fellow attendees know that they are being recorded.  Seeing none this meeting is being recorded by the City of Eastlake.

LEGISLATION PROPOSED:

There was no Legislation Proposed.

MISCELLANEOUS:

  1. Ordinance: To Local Public Agency for the stated project for State Route 91 between Curtis Boulevard and the ballpark’s west parking lot.

Mr. Meyers: This will be Legislation No.: 01-09-(01).  I will now turn it over the City Engineer Gwydir.

Mr. Gwydir: Thank you Mr. President.  If you recall ODOT repaired the bridge at Rt. 91 and State Rt. 2, when they did that part of their maintenance of traffic forced traffic on sout bound Rt. 91 onto the shoulder of Rt. 91 by Cutis Blvd.  It tore the roadway up on that side and the city is responsible for restoring that.  In seeing that it was part of the job we called ODOT and asked if they would repair it under the project.  They looked into it and they couldn’t repair it under the project, but they agreed under another program to repair it in full, so that the city would not have to expend costs for that.  This is authorizing legislation to ODOT that says it is acceptable to do that repair by city.  This will be at no cost to the city.
