Eastlake Safety Forces Water Rescue Team
 The safety forces of Eastlake (Police and Fire) include some members who have taken upon themselves to become more proficient in water rescues. While rescue diving is a major function of the team, it is not their only mission. With members from both forces, we get a more proficient team. The firefighters have more training in medical-related fields, while the police officers are more skilled in witness interviewing and legalities.
A good LSP or Last Scene Point is critical to a quick recovery. A quick recovery leads to a better outcome...the victim lives.
The mix of police officers on the team increases the chance of someone arriving very quickly, asking the right questions and deploying the members at an optimal location.
While all the members of both Eastlake’s Police and Fire departments will do whatever it takes in a life-and-death situation, the presence of someone specially trained can prevent the very real possibility of a rescuer becoming an additional victim.
